If you don't agree with the entire concept of splitting, don't post to this thread, post to some other thread (which are on-going). Let's try to evolve the following list--beat on it a while until we can agree on a split set (roughly--and I'm personally going to be very flexible here). Everybody try to keep your format to "before" and "after" per the message below. If we stick to this, we can blow through this process pretty quick. I meant "craft" as "kitemaking". "Kitemaking" is better, though. Perhaps "rec.kites.making"? Any better ideas? Anybody got a thesaurus? >And finally, suggest a "commercial" area where subtle and more blatant >ads or announcements can be posted along with personal for-sale notices. I think a "commercial" group would bring too many "fine line" issues up. How about an "announce" group instead, where blatant advertising, for-sale, and other announcements could be placed. This way, people talking about their kites in a "conversational" way (viz. in answer to a request for information) can post to the other groups, but people with blatent announcements ("The R-KET is Taking Off!!!") are obliged to put them into "announce". So: rec.kites.multiline rec.kites.singleline rec.kites.power rec.kites.making rec.kites.announce What do y'all think? ____________ Steve Thomas steveth@mindnet.com http://www.mindnet.com = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Sat, 9 Dec 1995 05:35:10 -1000 From: bluekites@inmind.com (James Ervin) Message-Id: <4ac71v$f8_001@everything.inmind.com> Organization: In Mind, Inc. If I were to do the naming I would stick with David's rec.kites.commercial and open it up to any and all postings, but limit such postings on the others.
