It is my favorite place to fly in England. The sand is hard packed & good for buggying, The water is a well enclosed estuary with a protecting sand bar which makes it good for body surfing with a stack of Flexi's and my favorite kite shop is a 5 minute walk up the hill from the bay. Just Kites owned & run by Fred Prior. The wind is normally good there as it is one the North Coast of Cornwall. You can fly on the beach or the large hill that forms part of the Bay... it is all open to the public. When you get tired of kiting you can take the ferry across to Padstow for a Beer (warm of course) and a cornish pasty. If you fancy a walk there is the church where Bechaman (?!) is buried, he must have been the greatest english poet of the 20th century, and then end up in a tea room for cream tea ! :-) If the wind is in the wrong direction for Daymer bay then a 5 minute drive to Hayle Bay will have the wind in the right direction you can then watch the surfers as well. The coastal walks round there are superb. There is also the Newquay & Perranporth Beaches & of course Gwithian. Cornwall is a lovely place though it can be a bit crowded in the summer with the emits (cornish for ants meaning holiday makers) Have fun, Blue skies and a good wind.
