I'm not familiar with the Speedwing, and don't know where it fits in the 
cross-bridle timeline, but the first example I remember of a cross-bridle 
was on Ted Dougherty's (Kite Innovations) Evolution, circa 1988 or 89 
shortly after I started flying.. Not to detract in _any_ way from Dean 
Jordan's, Herb Weldon's, Mike Simmons', or Thomas Ehrfurt's work, the 
cross-bridle is another example of the natural evolution of the species.. 
Remember when the 'hot' kites were Team Hawaiian and Spin-Off?? No 'dart' 
tails there, (and no standoffs or whiskers as stock items either).. How 
many flat sail kites do you see on today's market??
