From: bk817@FreeNet.Carleton.CA (Pauline Aubertin) Subject: A kite poem in celebration of Spring Date: Fri, 5 Apr 1996 03:09:51 -1000 Organization: The National Capital FreeNet Message-ID: <4k362v$jgm@freenet-news.carleton.ca> Free This is my kite On the ground she lay First time to launch her is today... See her clothed in bright white sheath laying on the ground at my feet Like an angel she does lay with silent virgin grace Attach a chord so I can sail her again and a rainbow band of warning for curious, unaware passers by In a few minutes she shall fly A little tug here A little nudge there Oh! ...she's ten feet in the air See those spinners, bright, bright, bright Attach them one by one until the decorating is all done See them spinning round, round, round catching the wind with the kite jerking up and down She's almost flight bound A little more slack and we'll fly some banners ...many memories >From quite a long aways back And to finish it off... Three long lanky strips of red, green, and blue And my favourite little fish spinner just for you. Off she sails toward the sky Oh no! A tree... Whew! ...just missed that one... We just made it by... Up, up, up Toward the heavenly sky She'll fly, fl, f ...free...
