][2Mac is a set of 3 applications, 1 for the Mac and 2 for the Apple-][,
that allow you to backup and restore Apple-][ floppies to/from a Mac.
The floppy-image is stored on the Mac in a format that is recognized by
IIe, the Apple //e emulator for the Mac, written by Victor and Vincent Tan
(see: http://www-personal.usyd.edu.au/~vtan/sw/index.html).

One of the users of ][2Mac even reported, that he has successfully
transferred DOS 3.3-, ProDOS- as well as Pascal-formatted disks from
his Apple //e to his Mac, and that he is using the diskimages now
on his Mac, in the IIgs emulator called 'Bernie ][ the Rescue'
(see: http://www.magnet.ch/emutech/Bernie/).

Also... ][2Mac enables you to use a Macintosh to send out and receive
Apple-][-disks to and from your friends over the internet...

Subject: [*] Address Pad 1.0.4

As the name suggests, this program will help you manage addresses, phone
numbers, email and homepage URLs of your friends without resorting to more
complex (and cluttered) applications. I gave this program such a generic
name so that it can fit nicely under your Apple menu along with the other
desktop utilities provided with Mac OS. By default, Address Pad will also
behave like a typical Apple menu application (i.e. opening a default
document when launched).

1.0.4 - One additional separator has been added in the address drawing
options; Drag&Drop feature now supports exporting users as text clippings to
the Finder or to other applications; documents can now be exported as
tab-delimited text files; some parts of the code have been optimized and/or
modified.

Subject: [*] Cameraid 1.1.2

Cameraid 1.1.2 (shareware, $15) is the all in one digital
photography utility program for the Macintosh. If you work with
JPEG images, you will probably find Cameraid useful.

Cameraid downloads images from Agfa, Apple (QT-200), Epson,
Fuji, Leica, Nikon, Olympus, Sanyo and Toshiba digital cameras.
Use any serial port, including third party solutions such as the
Keyspan SX Serial Card or their USB adapter (iMac and PowerMac
G3BW compatible) http://www.keyspan.com.

The viewer is the most convenient way to find out what exposure
time and aperture was used for taking a photo. Compatible with
almost all new digital cameras (including Kodak, Minolta, etc).

Cameraid can rotate and transform on JPEG images without
degrading the image quality.

Powerful batch operations can be used to copy files from flash
memory cards, automatically create simple HTML web pages, add
custom icons, rename files based on the date and time when the
photo was taken and much more.

Automatic enhancement filters enhance images with minimal user
interaction. What used to take hours of manual labor can now be
done in minutes using a single batch operation. A unique filter
can be used to reduce CCD image sensor and interlace artifacts.

Requires A Macintosh with a 68020 or better processor,
QuickTime, at least System 7 and 2MB of available RAM.

The unregistered shareware version is fully functional, but
includes built-in delays and registration reminders in some
operations. The $15 registration fee (payable through Kagi) will
eliminate the delays and make working with Cameraid faster and
smoother.

Subject: [*] CP290 Director 1.3 - Control of X10 CP290 Home Automation Syste

CP290 Director is Macintosh software that controls the original X10 home
automation computer controlled interface, model number CP290. It completely
replaces the Macintosh software that comes with the CP290, and has unique
features not found in other Macintosh-based CP290 controllers such as
MouseHouse and Xtension.

CP290 Director does not have to be running at all times to control the
CP290, since it takes advantage of the CP290'S ability to store events for
later execution. In addition to the standard CP290 features, CP290
Director supports the following additional features: 1) the ability to
specify that an event is to occur at sunrise or sunset (plus or minus a
specified time interval); 2) the ability to specify a specific date on
which an event is to occur, and optionally the interval in days thereafter
that the event should be repeated; and 3) the ability to specify that the
event should occur only on even days or on odd days.

System requirements:
* System 7 or greater
* Macintosh with at least 4 MB of RAM

Release 1.3 allows any serial device attached to your system to control the
CP290. For more information, please read the documentation enclosed, or

So I decided to write a little application which would do the work for me.
EAC is fast and very easy to use. Just launch it and follow the
instructions: 2 little steps, a few seconds to wait, ..., and you can
launch Eudora=81 with your brand new adress book!

What's new?

- faster conversion
- the name field of the Eudora Pro adress book is filled now
- the folder created when the button "Open & Save converted Files" is
chosen is now named "Nicknames Folder". You just have to drag & drop it in
the "Eudora Folder" folder in the system folder.
- conversion progress window added

N.B. if you encounter problems converting your Emailer=81 adresse book, try
to increase EAC's memory (Finder: "File" menu -> "Get Info")

System requierements:

68K or PowerPC Macintosh.
System 7.5 up to 8.5.x

Subject: [*] Extension Overload 3.3

What is Extension Overload?

You have noticed those icons that march across your screen when your Mac
starts. Those icons represent extensions and control panels installed in
your system folder. Did you ever wonder what they are or even if they are
needed or useful?

Extension Overload lists 1236 extensions and control panels
(alphabetically), and tells you what each one is there for, what it does
and when it is needed - and also when it is not needed.

This means you can streamline your system folder and make it lean, mean and
fast. You keep the ones that are useful and discard the ones that simply
take up space.

It makes sense to create a machine that isn't "overweight". Such a machine
is more secure, crashes less often and runs a heck of a lot faster.

This release of Extension Overload has information on 1236 Extensions and
Control Panels from System 7, 7.5, 7.6, Mac OS 8, 8.1, 8.5, 8.5.1 and the
iMac. This means you can streamline your system folder and make it lean,
mean and fast. You keep the ones that are useful and discard the ones that
simply take up space. It makes sense to create a machine that isn't
"overweight". Such a machine is more secure, crashes less often and runs a
heck of a lot faster.

Extension Overload is ready to assist you if:

*	you have recurring crashes.
*	you have an extension conflict.
*	you want to make your system use as little RAM as possible.
*	you want to save disk space by deleting unnecessary files.
*	you want to know what all the items in your System Folder do.
*	you are an experienced user who needs a handy reference.
*	you are a novice user who wants to learn his way around the machine.

And there is more to Extension Overload ! ! !

* It contains information about Mac Error Codes.
* It also contains information about Easter Eggs (those special gimmicks
hidden within your software). Most of these are humorous and fun.
* Dozens and dozens of ways to make your Mac go faster, optimizing both
hardware and software. It's fun to take some of these suggestions see how
your machine responds!

Subject: [*] Funnel Web 3.0

Funnel Web provides detailed statistical analysis and profiling of Web site
usage from any Web Server and Operating System. It combines detailed
statistical analysis and charting with an intuitive user interface and
extensive filtering capabilities. Funnel Web 3.0 introduces some major new
features such as the new streaming analysis engine, platform independent
remote control, and event messaging and notification as well as some minor
bug fixes.

The new Streaming Analysis engine has been specifically designed for
RAM-efficient processing that continuously monitors Web sites in a finite
amount of RAM. Platform independent remote control has also been
introduced to make it possible to run a copy of Funnel Web on any server
and remotely control the Funnel Web application from any desktop machine
regardless of platform. New event messaging and notification allows
organizations to continually monitor their Web site for specific events,
such as user accesses and download limits.

These new features are in addition to an already powerful featureset which
includes multilingual support, log archiving and compression, automated FTP
upload and download, support for multiple graphics formats and report
output.
This demo version expires 30 days after installation.

Subject: [*] InterCal Version 1.4.1

InterCal Version 1.4.1, as a compressed (Stuffit Archive) BinHexed file
called InterCal141.sit.hqx, has been uploaded to macgifts@info-mac.org. It
should replace all previous versions of InterCal in your archive. You may
include it in the CD-ROM if you so desire.

Version 1.4.1 is a minor bug fix to 1.4 and also adds some additional
information in Chinese calendar displays.

The major changes in Version 1.4 are the addition of the Chinese calendar
and modifications to the rules of the French Revolutionary calendar.
Starting with version 1.4, two forms of the program are distributed---one
requires an FPU; the other does not.

InterCal is a freeware calendar system comparison program intended as an
aid to genealogical or historical research. It can also be used as a
perpetual calendar (for day-of-week of any date) or as a holiday
calculator.

The program displays calendars, one month at a time, in any of the
implemented systems over a very wide range of years. Each day of the
displayed month can be labeled with the equivalent date in any other
implemented system. In a separate window, a selected date's equivalent in
all supported systems can be shown at once. When present in the displayed
month, major Christian, Jewish, and Islamic holy days are highlighted under
user control, regardless of which calendar systems are in use at the time.

Implemented systems are: Gregorian, Julian, "Western Historical" (a hybrid
of the Gregorian and Julian), Jewish, Islamic, Mayan, Chinese, French
Revolutionary, and the Elliot Super (an invention of the author).

Subject: [*] Power Menu 2.2.3J - Japanese Version

File Name: powermenu2.2.3j.sit.hqx

This is the Japanese version of the PowerMenu package.

PowerMenu is a utility that adds powerful commands to your contextual menu
if you are running MacOS 8 or better. If you are running the older
Macintosh System 7, PowerMenu adds a contextual menu to your system so you
can still use this innovative feature without upgrading to MacOS 8.
PowerMenu's contextual menu commands let you do all these operations with a
 single click:

*Open files straight into any application. If the application you want to
use isn't running, PowerMenu automatically launches it for you.
*Move, copy or make an alias of files straight into target folders of your
choosing.
*Quickly open commonly used files or launch any application.

PowerMenu also provides these handy features:

*"File Copy and Paste", a unique feature that makes manipulating files much
easier. With File Copy and Paste, you can "pick up" files and "drop" them
into another folder without dragging and dropping. You can even "gather"
many files from different locations and copy or move them all to a single
target folder with just a few clicks or keystrokes!
*A pop-up menu, accessible from any application, that lets you quickly open
or launch your commonly used files and applications with a single click.

PowerMenu gets the job done faster with:

*Fully hierarchical menus to allow you to group items into submenus for
even faster access.
*Multithreaded operation; PowerMenu rebuilds your menus in the background
while you work, so even very large menus appear instantly.
*Takes full advantage of MacOS 8 features, but is still fully compatible
with System 7!

Changes in version 2.2.3J: Corrects a startup bug and greatly accelerates
the drawing of custom icons under MacOS 8.5.

Subject: [*] SimpleImage 2.0

SimpleImage is a simple but powerful image- and movie-viewing application
that lets you view all the most popular image and movie formats, like JPEG,
GIF, animated GIF, TIFF, PICT, PNG, MPEG, AVI and more in a single, sleek
application. (Some file types may require QuickTime 3 or a Power Macintosh.)

With SimpleImage you can
o View images with or without scrollbars
o Transform images and movies by rotating and reflecting them
o Crop and zoom images
o View images and movies full-screen or in a slide show
o Create Snapshots -- small files you can double click to reopen groups of
windows exactly the way you left them

With QuickTime 3 SimpleImage can also be used as a simple conversion
utility, with the ability to save both images and movies in several formats.

SimpleImage is Mac OS 8 savvy, correctly adopting the new Mac OS 8 look and
making extensive use of contextual menus.

System Requirements
Macintosh with a 68040 processor
3 MB of free RAM
Monitor capable of displaying 256 colors
System 7.5.5
QuickTime 2.5

Strongly Recommended
Power Macintosh
Lots of free RAM
Monitor capable of displaying thousands or millions of colors
Mac OS 8 or later
QuickTime 3.0 or later

Version 2.0 adds a bunch of new features, including

o Revamped slide show -- now you can have SimpleImage cycle through the
items in a folder and display them in a slide show.
o Info window -- you can now see useful, dynamic information about an image
or movie.
o Open contextual sub-menu -- see at a glance what else is in the folder
containing an image or movie without switching to the Finder.
o More robust Snapshots -- new, more comprehensive search abilities make it
easier to find Snapshot items that have been moved to different disks.
o Numerous other tweaks and improvements -- redesigned preferences dialog
box, open folders by drag-and-drop, and more...

SimpleImage is $20 shareware.

Subject: [*] Text ta' See

Text ta' See - is a text searching program that can search text files for
up to 8 different words/phrases at a time. Once located Text ta' See
arranges files found in descending order by the number of matches each file
had and reports the full path to the file plus other pertinent information
ie, creator, size, date modified and date created. Text ta' See will also
display snippets of text showing the context in which the search string was
used. To further narrow the search Text ta' See allows one to search the
found set of files by a new set of words/phrases.

Released: 14. February, 1999.
=46ormat: SIT 5

Don't fear...

and Background applications.

It also features a RAM Charger like expansion of the heap of applications
you choose.

System 7.0 is the minimum needed. It has been tested on System 8.51 (PPC)

Can I distribute it?
Yes. The Reaper is free.

14.Feb.99 V1.21
+ Added checks to avoid allocating a system heap handle in Temporary Memory
- which caused some occasional crashes in Smart or Growth heaps.
+ Clear handles requested as clear when allocated from Temp Memory.
+ No longer check the Twitcher Zone for free space - since it is not always
accurate in MacOS 8.x and always inaccurate in MacOS 7.x.

Subject: [*] TrashCleaner 2

TrashCleaner is a Contextual Menu Plug-in for Macintosh PowerPC under System 8.

When you select the trash with the control key down, TrashCleaner proposes
you menus:

  * to create in the trash a folder for each disk and arranges the files
accordingly.

  * to empty the trash *only* for the disk chosen.

This new version 2, more powerful, includes an installer, dialog
preferences for the opening of trash and for the
management of network disks, progress dialogs like-Finder, etc.

TrashCleaner works now in collaboration with the system and the finder
instead of directly manipulating files and folders.

All tidying and cleaning routines are optimized and can now run in background.

Subject: [*] TrashMan

What is TrashMan?

TrashMan is a control panel that will automatically empty your WasteBasket
without you having to go to the Special menu and select Empty Wastebasket.

How do I use Trashman?

Simply drag Trashman to your System Folder, the System should place the
control panel in the Control Panels folder, and restart your machine.
TrashMan once installed can be turned on and off without restarting your
machine. Trashman is initially off with a delay between emptying the trash of
10 seconds.

To increase the delay between emptying the trash open up the Trashman control
panel and type in the number of seconds you want the delay to be. You will
note that the delay cannot be set to less than 10 seconds. From the open
control panel you can also turn TrashMan on and off.
